Identifying a Need to Transform
When Macadamian employees began requesting a more flexible, streamlined, and paperless health benefits management experience, we turned to insurance broker Jardine Lloyd Thompson Canada Inc. (JLT) to provide a web based flex benefits solution.

Modernizing a Legacy Solution
Working with JLT’s product management team, Macadamian modernized and upgraded the Easy Flex Web application. The existing system’s legacy enrollment and life events workflows were constraining JLT’s ability to innovate in terms of the services and experience they were providing their enterprise customers and their employees.
Macadamian approached the modernization of JLT’s EasyFlex Web application by:
- Conducting user experience (UX) Research with end users (plan administrators and employees) to gain an in-depth understanding of usability issues.
- Designing step-by-step enrollment and life events workflow processes with quick access to required forms and benefits information.
- Integrating the Easy Flex Web application with JLT’s existing backend infrastructure.
A Step Ahead
In an industry which is still largely paper based, the move to the latest web application technologies and a heightened focus on user experience provided JLT with an innovative, mobile centric flex benefits solution to offer to both health insurance carriers and enterprise customers.
