Cisco Systems: Macadamian helps Cisco reach new user base and develops Flipshare Mobile for Android and Blackberry

After its May 2009 acquisition of Pure Digital Technologies, creators of the Flip Video camcorder for digital video, Cisco wanted to extend the associated FlipShare social networking and collaboration service to smartphone users.
FlipShare enables users to upload, organize, and share their Flip video and photo content. The FlipShare Mobile application allows users to access and stream their content while on the go, as well as upload video taken from their smartphone and share it with friends.
Cisco already had a popular FlipShare Mobile application for iPhone, and they wanted to extend the service as soon as possible to Android and BlackBerry users. Android was a new technology, and the protocol for streaming video to BlackBerry was not well known. Cisco chose Macadamian to engineer the mobile application for both platforms, leveraging our technical expertise in the areas of mobile software development and video streaming.

Cisco publicly launched the FlipShare Mobile application in December 2009, and it is available for download at the App Store, Android Market and BlackBerry AppWorld.
