Creating “Wow!” Moments for CES
Dec 17, 2010
The Android platform is creating countless new opportunities for innovative new products, and major electronics manufacturers are racing to introduce new Android-based products for January’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.
"Android, and increasingly cheaper hardware and components, is creating a perfect storm in consumer electronics," says Matthew Hately, General Manager Macadamian’s Silicon Valley office. "It lets you create compelling and innovative new products without the cost-consuming firmware and embedded development of just a few years prior. Instead, you can focus on the key areas of value and interaction with the end-user, and invest your R&D dollars in creating differentiated products. Most of the unique value of these products are now in the form factor and software."
A number of consumer electronics manufacturers engaged with Macadamian earlier this year to help design and build the software that runs on the devices, which span a wide range of uses, capabilities, and form factors. Our deep technical knowledge of Android, which helps us push the platforms to new limits and meet tight deadlines, and a User Experience Design team that combines research-driven design with emotion and visual design is what drew a number of companies to working with Macadamian. Look for products we co-designed with our customers to make their debut at CES next month.
